In Seoul Korea, SEOUL, Samsung Electronics is shifting away from fossil fuels. Their goal is to use global operations by 2050, a challenging feat. They plans to invest $5 billion through 2030 on projects to reduce carbon emissions.

Bill Gates is hopeful
In spite of all the bad news out there, Bill Gates is hopeful for the future.
“Seven years ago, 200 world leaders agreed to 17 development goals, including the elimination of deep poverty and world hunger by 2030. The report finds that although the world is on track to achieve “almost none” of its ambitious goals, the planet is still better off than it was 30 years ago in almost every category.”

New York City
According to NYT, over 13,000 trees have been planted in New York City this year, part of New York’s efforts to fight climate change.

The city plans around 20,000 trees every year until at least 2026, and the park department is spending spend $136 million planting over the next four years.

France become the first in Europe to ban fossil fuel ads, with fines between 20k-100k euros.
Agriculture
The Biden administration plans to spend $3 billion in funds to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and sequester carbon in agriculture and forestry.This is triple their original commitment in Feburary.
U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack was set to publicly announce the expansion of the Partnerships for Climate-Smart Commodities program on Wednesday, along with 70 projects that will receive the initial funding.
